Red Door

Red door, red door,
what do you mean to me?
you’re one of the few that i look at and i approach with glee,
this door leads in to my almost family.Red door, red door,
What do you mean to me?
you are the only door i ever want to see,
you let me in, to where i want to be,

to a house full of friends and the woman i love,
to a world apart, where i am safe and, well, loved,
to a home without match, save one of family by blood.

Red door, red door,
what do you mean to me?
you are the portal that turns me into we,
where i can truly be completely free.

Red door, red door,
what do you mean to me?
you are the door, that brings me to my newest family.

“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”
Robert Frost
